General Requirements

  1. High School Diploma or G.E.D., preferred, with evidence of such.
  2. Agree to participate in individual testing for use of illegal drugs.
  3. Agree to criminal background search, reference checks, and abuse registry check.
  4. Agree to be screened for tuberculosis.
  5. An ACT applicant is disqualified if (one), of the following occur:
    • Listed on Abuse Registry
    • D.U.I.
    • Hit and Run
    • Failure to report an accident
    • Negligent homicide using a motor vehicle
    • Using a motor vehicle for the commission of a felony
    • Operating a motor vehicle without the owner's authority (grand theft)
    • Permitting an unlicensed person to drive
    • Reckless driving
    • Speed contest
    • Any combination of accidents (regardless of fault) and violations, which total three
    • Licensed less than three (3) years regardless of age

Should you become an employee of ACT, you may be required to obtain a Class D For Hire Tennessee Drivers License. Your supervisor will inform you of when this special license needs to be obtained.
